Teaching Method

You see things; and you say, “Why?” But I dream things that never were; and I say, “Why not?”

– George Bernard Shaw

At Mainspring, we employ a specially designed teaching system termed as the A.S.P.I method, which makes problem solving easy, efficient and accurate. This method follows the important teaching philosophy and strategy of the Mainspring’s founders and has benefitted countless students over time. With Mainspring’s commitment to keep the child as the centre of gravity, we always ensures that your child’s learning is connected to the most advanced teaching tools and methods that make learning interesting and highly retainable.

Here is a snapshot of the A.S.P.I method.

A – Analyze

Children will be guided to analyse content and/or data by constructing an analysis template.

They will start right and end right.

S – Select

Children are encouraged to ‘fish’ for answers instead of simply being handed the answer.

Children are encouraged to strategise accordingly and select the best strategy to apply when solving a problem.

P – Process and Progress

Problem solving is not rocket science. All that is needed is accurate and relevant procedural skills to obtain the right solutions. E.g. numerical calculation, algebraic manipulation, processing Science knowledge learnt or comprehending English passages, etc.

Curriculum is divided into modules to enable progressive skill building and gradual progress – from simple to the more complex problems.

I – Innovate

Similar concepts are presented in different ways to build conceptual flexibility.

Children are engaged in a multitude of varying activities that promote use of multiple intelligences and learning styles.

Children are encouraged to seek alternative ways to solve the same problem.
